WARDINA SAFIYYAH
Wardina Safiyyah Fadlullah, who was born on
5 June 1979 is of Australian and Achehnese parentage. She has
always had a tendency towards all forms of art.
She started her career at a young age, doing advertisements for
various products - and she loved being in front of the camera.
Her star shone brighter since then, where she was then chosen
to host a few TV programs.
Dina, as she fondly called, then became a household name
people started to take notice of her when she hosted Hits
From RIM, a Malaysian chart show based on local album sales.
This leads to her acting career in 1997, where she acted in TV
series telemovies like Kepulangan, Maka Diciptakannya
Perempuan (where she starred alongside Sarimah), Jodoh
Dua Beradik, and others. In the year 1998, she landed a role
of Misha ( the smart daughter of the Spanar Jaya workshop
owner, Pak Selamat) in the long-running popular sitcom, Spanar
Jaya. The series became a big hit, propelling her name as
a credible actress winning the hearts of her many fans of
all ages. Wardina went on to act in other telemovies, theatres
and even movies.
Wardina's decision to change her image don the headscarf
was viewed positively by many and she became role models to teens
her young fans. The beautiful lass was offered to endorse
an Islamic cosmetic range the hijab due to her
new image. She has even appeared in a commercial of a brand of
shampoo, where the unique thing is, she did not have to reveal
a strand of her crowning glory! In 2001, she then acted in a mini
TV series, Julia, which was adapted from a book by Abu
Hassan Morad, saying that she could relate to the character very
well. She went on to host an Islamic children's TV show, Kisah
Anbiya'.
Wardina became a celebrity of Initifada, a sub-label
of KRU Music Group which focuses on Islamic materials, in the
year 2002. In November 2002, she released two volumes of the VCD
release titled Wardina Keluarga Pak Tam. She hosted the
show which features 3D animation contemporary nasyid
songs, targeted for pre-schoolers.
The KL-born Wardina wonderfully juggles her time between her
studies, her family (she is married to an architect, and blessed
with two daughters) and her career. And she will definitely gives
her utmost best in everything that she does.
